Description

Sodium Hydroxide is a strong alkaline compound widely used in cosmetic formulations as a pH adjuster, neutralizing agent, and saponification agent in soap-making. In skincare and haircare, it is typically used in very small, controlled amounts to adjust the acidity or alkalinity of a product. In cold process soap-making, it reacts with oils and butters to create soap through saponification, leaving no sodium hydroxide in the final cured product when formulated correctly.
