Glyceryl Stearate

Glyceryl Stearate is a natural, plant-derived emulsifier and emollient created by reacting glycerin (a humectant) with stearic acid (a fatty acid obtained from vegetable oils such as palm, soy, or coconut).

It plays two important roles in cosmetic formulation:

As an emulsifier, it helps blend oil and water phases to form smooth, stable creams and lotions.

As an emollient, it provides a soft, silky feel on the skin, improving texture and hydration without greasiness.
