Sodium PCA

Sodium PCA (Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acid Sodium Salt) is a naturally derived moisturizing and hydrating ingredient that helps maintain the skin’s moisture balance and elasticity.

It is one of the main components of the skin’s Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) the group of substances naturally present in the outer layer of the skin that keeps it hydrated, smooth, and healthy.

Sodium PCA is obtained from plant-based amino acids, usually from sugar beets or coconut, and is highly effective at attracting and retaining water molecules. It keeps the skin soft and supple without greasiness and improves the feel of both skincare and haircare formulations.
